Ryan -- I think you are doing the right thing. I do hope that you find the right place, and that Daragaon chooses to stand on its own two feet. I wish nothing but the best, just as our Lord does, for you and your family.

I know that you haven't heard from Dale and I in years and that we weren't that close at CCU, but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you live out the words of Jesus and as you bring about God's kingdom here on earth through your unending love, compassion, and peace. WOW, what an amazing thing you are doing for God's children!! I was balling while reading this and can't even imagine the trauma that you went through. May God's love and peace continually be with you!! Love, Stacy (Scofield) Fredrickson

Yet another thought - if diapers are welcomed - any color taboos? The waterproof outer covering comes in a multitude of colors, I would likely be sending a variety if there are no restrictions.

Tracey again - my son said you only check emails every few weeks, so I am adding more details - I am thinking if the diapers would help, I can likely vacuum pack them, they are light, but could be a little bulky. Any idea how many you could use? What about sizes - are you dealing with tiny babies, or bigger ones? Any guess on waist size? The diapers fit several sizes. I thought of sending tiny diapers (newborn) then let the families "trade" the little ones back to you to be given to other families and get bigger ones when they need them, so the diapers stay in use? I would think a minimum of 6 per family would be nice?? What if I could get a few others to also send some sets? I like this combo of fabrics as it is very sturdy, and can last years even in damp climates (or when forgotten in a bag under the seat of a car for 3 weeks :-/) As far as the feminine products - they are an all in 1 design, but unfold for easier hand washing. They snap with wings around an undergarment - would something like this be useful there? I can do almost any kind of sewing - if there is a special need, please let me know. (Like a handicapped person needing special clothing, or?) What about clinic needs? I recently sent 2 good hand breast pumps to Vicki - could you also use such things? Can you let me know any specific needs or supplies and I will try to locate what you need? I don't have lots of ready cash, but I do have talents to share :-)I can cover shipping on whatever you need. Email me at Traceyky at gmail dot com with your needs and where to send things, and I will do what I can.

This is Tracey Moore, John Moore's mom (that visited you last year) Yea to Amanda!! (I am a midwife too) I saw the note of thanks to someone for diapers - is that still a need? Is it cloth diapers? I make cloth pocket diapers - they are made with polyester waterproof outers, poly suedecloth inners, poly snaps, and are stuffed with a seperate cloth for absorbency. They wash easily and dry fast, in as little as an hour in the sun or over a wood stove. Would these be of use to you if we donated some? What about cloth menstrual pads? (I make these too) We have a group of ladies that get together to sew every month, to meet the needs of others - can we help? Let me know..

Dear Ryan and Amanda,
I am blessed and inspired to read about your journey and life in the Himalayas. I've been told a lot about you through one of my closest friends, Brenton Hutson, who came to visit you last summer...I believe he met your dad at Justin Kautz's memorial in Colorado last Januray...I was good friend of Justin's, we grew in Vermont together. Justin's actually the reason I moved to CO in '04 where I met Brenton. I love to see how God uses all these different ways to link us together. I will pray that He will continue to strengthen and sustain your family and ministry in such a difficult place. I will definitely support you financially and in prayer, let me know if there is anything in specific I can pray about. God bless!

Hi Ryan,

I'd like to raffle off an IPod to raise money to help you help this community out. It's an older one - a 20GB (non-video), but hopefully it can be a drop in the bucket which will soon overflow.

Anyone reading and wishing to contribute - please contact me tommy.rivera@gmail.com

Please tell Amanda, Asher and Ian I said 'hi'.

Beautiful. This story is incredible. I have had similar struggles. It is awesome to hear about God loving us so much and affirming that we are in fact "beloved."
